By Nancy Lane

Camp Kop II is finally here!

“Camp Kop II, Prep for the Future” is for all high school age Liverpool players (03, 02, 01, 00/99 teams) who want to have a great time and test themselves in elements of goal-setting, trust, courage, physical/mental fitness and problem solving.

Camp Kop II, Prep for the Future is for those players who want to discover their true goals as a team as well as an individual. Teenagers must learn about themselves, have the courage to make mistakes and then learn from them and the ability to stay on a focused pathway.  These tools can mean the difference between success or failure.  Liverpool believes that 100% of our players can have a successful pathway beyond high school and club soccer, but only if they have the tools to navigate their future.  Giving them the tools they need to make decisions and prepare for the future is what Camp Kop II- Prep for the Future is all about.

The players use the YMCA Adventure Camp facilities, activities and staff to experience an amazing 2 days and three nights filled with unique activities such as the high zip line, the advanced Challenge Course, paddleboards, canoes, 16 miles of hiking trails, lakes and much more.  These fun exercises encourage the players to experience team building, self-evaluation exercises and goal setting opportunities throughout the daily schedules to help them recognize their dreams and chart their pathway to achieving them.  As a team they work as a unit, as an individual they recognize their value within that unit.  Each player will have the opportunity to experience leadership as well as support roles and to reflect on their goals for the future.
