College Athlete Placement (CAP) Program

09/05/2017, 6:45pm CDT
By Nancy Lane

On Friday night College Athlete Placement (CAP) Program director Dru Wright attended the UTD vs Austin College Men’s and UTD vs Grove City (Women’s) games.   After watching both games, Dru visited with two Liverpool alumni players Austin College’s Phillip Le and UTD’s Alfredo Kaegi about their roles and college experience thus far.   Dru was delighted to hear that both are happy and enjoying the student- athlete life at their respective campuses.   Dru also visited with all the head coaches and was encouraged to see how closely aligned Liverpool’s technical development and style of player for all colleges.  He was particularly encouraged by the coaching staff of the UTD women’s sideline and remarked that the enthusiasm and overall experience of attending the Div III games was electric.

CAP Program Director Dru Wright stated, “As a part of the college program it is very important for me to understand the level and style of play of our local universities.  Our players put their trust in us as a club to help them find the right fit, and it is a responsibility we take very seriously.  Creating the trust between the colleges and Liverpool (myself and our coaches) strengthens the positive recruiting opportunities for our players.”
