As we enjoyed a day of ‘thanks’ during the Thanksgiving break and look forward to the holidays just around the corner, we are reminded that there are those who may face struggles and challenges that are difficult and can be overwhelming during this time of the year. Celebrating this season of love and family, we would like to offer a helping hand to families within the club who might be in need leading up to winter break. With our “Hearts, Hands and Hope for the Holidays” moms and dads within the club can email us if you know someone who might be in need. Tell us who the person is, and how you think we can help… we will take it from there. While we recognize we cannot solve all problems we sure would like to help in the ways that we can.
In addition, if your team would like to participate as a team service project please let me know. Some of the requests may not be appropriate, but some might be. When a request comes in that we feel a team could support either with a project, or perhaps a child in need, we will let you know. The club will remain involved with direction and activities providing guidance, respect and discretion at all times should a team want to help.
A big thank you ahead of time for those teams who might consider this as a unique way to bring the team together during this time of year. While soccer is our focus, building the best player is our goal. That spirit of giving and doing for others is an important lesson for all of us to experience no matter how old or young.
Hearts, Hands and Hope for the holidays would love to hear from you if you know of a family in need. If you know of someone who could use a little extra help, please send us a confidential email to email@example.com and we will do all that we can to make the season a little brighter. Be sure to put “Hearts, Hands and Hope for the Holidays in the ‘subject’ line.
