I was born in Mexico City in 1981. I grew up surrounded by soccer. I began playing soccer for the Youth Academy Club Guadalajara. I played at National & Regional levels of soccer with Club Deportivo Guadalajara. I played on the 4th team of Cruz Azul until an injury requiring surgery to my knee occurred. After 2 months of recovery, I returned to play on a Semi-pro Indoor soccer league by the name of Nestle. I played 1 year for an amateur team, Liga Espanola in Mexico City, and played 1 year 3rd division professional league for Guerrero de Acapulco.
In 2000 I met my wife in Mexico City, fell in love, and found out she was from Texas. I followed her to the United States and got married in 2002. I brought with me my passion of futbol and was anxious to begin in the development of young players and I was determined to instill that same passion for the sport into them.
I began coaching recreational soccer in 2002 and then in 2010 I was ready to go to the next level of soccer. I joined the Dallas Texans Soccer Club where I began as a Coach for the boys' 05 team and later also developed and coached the 06 and 07 boys division.
"Young players need freedom of expression to develop as creative players... they should be encouraged to try skills without fear of failing." - Arsene Wenger
